Admission

Trinity Pre-School offers Pre-school education for children aged two-and-a-half to five. We offer a minimum of three sessions. These can be a mixture of morning, afternoon or all day sessions.
The Pre-school operates a waiting list policy. We recommend registering with us as early as possible. You can print off an application form from this website and send it to us.
We are able to offer add hoc sessions for children who attend the setting. Please talk to staff and we will do our best to meet your needs.

​Curriculum & Assessment

​Trinity Pre-School sessions are planned in accordance with national curriculum guidelines EYFS. Our curriculum is child directed play with adult support so children are learning in an exciting way the moment they enter our care.
​
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.
​
As well as being the core document for all professionals working in the foundation years, the EYFS framework gives mums and dads confidence that regardless of where they choose for their child’s early education, they can be assured that the same statutory commitments and principles will underpin their child’s learning and development experience.
Key Person System & Communication

​A key person is a named member of staff with responsibilities for group of children. We help your little ones in the group to feel safe, nurtured and cared for, enjoy their pre-school experience, and observing individual children’s various skills.
​
To stay in touch with parents and share what the children have been up to during their day we use Tapestry, which is an online learning journal. Parents can view via a handy app or simply go online to see photos and messages from the pre-school. It provides a vibrant and interactive way of tracking children’s learning, allowing us to share special moments and communicate with parents.
Transition to school
​
The transition to school is one of the first major event in many children’s lives. This period is exciting but it can be scary for the little ones so we help and support them alongside with the foundation teachers to make sure they all settle in and happy by the time they start “big school” by visiting school often. Although we operate independently we work close together with Trinity primary school so we make the little ones transition pleasant and smooth. Children get to stay and play during the school visit, get to know their new school, environment and teachers. Also the teachers come and meet the children in our setting to learn about them.
